We EXBeacon is a next-generation beacon equipped with a mesh network function. This, unlike the separate conventional that had originated the electric wave is one having a function of performing mutual communication. Form a network is inexpensive beacon between terminals. Management operation and remote control is not only easy, by being applied to things of the network, applications has expanded by leaps and bounds. That is why it is fundamental technology and the eye of the IoT.

Three basic uses
1)The user receives a signal on their smartphone
As the user approaches the Beacon, a smartphone app receives a signal, and queries a dedicated server. The server fetches information connected to the Beacon, and displays it in the app.
2-1)The user sends signals with a Beacon
A Beacon (Tx) embedded in a helmet or entry pass is carried by the user, sending out a signal. The location and profile of the user can then be detected.
2-2)The user becomes part of the mesh network
The Beacons carried by the users become part of a mesh network of Beacons, allowing for detection of user position as well as logging movement.
3)Collecting environmental information
Sensors and Beacons can be combined to share and manage environmental information such as temperature, humidity, or congestion across the entire network.
Construction site completion management system
As part of the management of the interior work at a skyscraper construction site, a Beacon was placed in each room to manage room-specific construction information between on-site (iPad) and remote (PC) clients.

FARET Tachikawa – Arts Guide System using Beacons
80 mesh networking Beacons were installed along streets in the FARET Tachikawa area, and guide service was provided for public art through a dedicated app. Installed Beacons were donated to Tachikawa city. Opening up information as public infrastructure, we are also responsible for management of the system.

Case 1: Facility access control system
By handing visitors Beacons in stead of entry tickets, the location of the visitors can be detected at real time through catching the signal they send in the mesh network of Beacons within the facility.
This allows for cheap, highly functional access control based on visitor classification in facilities with large quantities of visitors that require high-level facility management such as offices, medical facilities, and demonstration facilities.
Case 2: Food court congestion detection system
A PIR sensor is installed on each table in a food court, and detected heat (customer) information is sent to the server via a cloud using mesh networking Beacons, where current congestion can be displayed. Food court congestion can be monitored remotely at a low cost.
Case 3: Guest access control system at a hotel
By acquiring guests’ current position and status using Beacons embedded in key cards as well as a mesh network of Beacons across the hotel, the following services can be realized. Guidance of guests by light after check-in / Early detection of suspicious outsiders. Adjustment of air conditioning and lighting based on guest distribution / Automatic check-in at breakfast. Monitoring of congestion / Centralized management and recording of employee locations.
Case 4: Railroad facility management solution
During railroad track maintenance operations, workers will be able to use devices such as tablets on-site to report on progress and share information. Installing mesh Beacons 50m apart along the railway allows workers to attach accurate position and time information to their progress reports, problem reports, site photographs, and other information. This allows for detailed and varied management of information and human resources, a formerly difficult task.
[Expected benefits] Attachment of location information to various information will improve efficiency and accuracy of maintenance operations. The situation at the site can be monitored remotely at any time. An accurate log of each worker‘s position at any time allows for absolute certainty of operations. Production of reports on-site improves efficiency of inspection operations. Saves battery on the device, as it does not use GPS technology.
